I have a WordPress.com website. I have purchased a .ie domain and want to transfer to that.

  I have been told by my domain provider that WordPress does not allow me to transfer the website to .ie as it was a free website? I am not very technical and am wondering if you might know a way around this. They mentioned I may need to purchase one of your websites and transfer from that (which really confused me). I attach a link to my WordPress website, the only reason I want to make it a .ie is so when people search Goggle I come up (I’m starting a very small business) as with WordPress people are not finding my site :-( Thanks in advance.

  I guess you mean that you want to use a .ie domain for your WordPress.com site.

  In order to do that, you need to map your own domain to your WordPress.com site. However, you can’t perform a domain mapping with your free account. Therefore, you need to have a paid upgrade.

  Hi Hacchism
  Thank you for that, as you can probably tell, I am not very technical :-( So if I were to get WordPress to do the conversion of the website for me (switch to a WordPress.org and then to my .ie domain), could you tell me how much that would cost?

  No prob!! I’m happy to assist you :)

  So if I were to get WordPress to do the conversion of the website for me (switch to a WordPress.org and then to my .ie domain),

  If you have a WordPress.com site already and just want to use your .ie domain for your WordPress.com site, you don’t need to switch to a WordPress.org, only you have to do is a domain mapping.

  When it comes to a cost, the cheapest way to map your domain is upgrading to the Personal plan, which costs $2.99 per month.
