  I have already purchased a domain address and I would use it without transferring from current provider. In you website, it says $18.00+gst would be charged. Why am I being charged even though I already paid for it.

  Yes you paid for your domain elsewhere but to use it/map it to a site here you need to pay WordPress.com too.
