  Hello! I currently have a website but am wanting to redo my website with WordPress. I don’t want to switch over to the new WordPress website until it is ready to launch

  Create a free site with a .wordpress.com subdomain. You can upgrade to a paid plan later if you wish to transfer/map an existing domain to the WordPress.com site.
