  What is the most efficient and effective way to invite friends to sign up to ‘follow’ my blog and therefore get an email each time I put up a new post? Is it simply telling them to go to 1table.wordpress.com, click on the follow icon and type in their name and email? Where on the page will they find this icon?

  Hi @nrandallmullins, welcome back!

  We have a follow button in the lower right-hand corner, or if someone encounters your site through the reader, they can follow there.

  Or, if you have their email addresses, you might just invite your followers like this:
  https://wordpress.com/support/followers/#followers-explained

  If you want to make the follow option more obvious on your site, the Subscribe Block should work well:
  https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/subscribe-block/

  Speaking of blocks, if it’s been a few years, you’ll notices things are a bit different! WordPress is much more modular than it used to be. If you can, I’d recommend listening to one of our webinars to get a feel for how things work now.

  Of course, you can also just type, and type /image on its own line to add images (or /subscribe to add that block, and so on). But if you want to explore newer options, we’ve got tutorials and recorded webinars here:
