I have lost my phone

Hi, I have lost my phone +[redacted] and have a new phone number +[redacted] for 2 step authentication. My email is still (email visible only to moderators and staff). Can you please change my phone number for me? Thank you.

Hi there, please avoid posting personal information such as phone numbers on the forum as they are public. I’ve tagged staff to remove them, and they may also be able to help you with your issue.
Do you have a backup code? If so, you can disable 2FA using this guide and then change your phone number as per usual: https://en.support.wordpress.com/security/two-step-authentication/#disabling-two-step-authentication

Hi there,
We cannot disable 2FA for you, no. That would completely defeat the purpose of having 2FA to start with.
When you set up 2FA you were provided with ten backup codes to use in an emergency. If you are no longer able to receive texts at the current/old number, please use one of those backup codes to disable 2FA before re-enabling it again.

Fortunately, I’m the only one, and I have the 10 backup codes, and I could log in. It’s not a problem for me. The problem is I cannot disable 2FA by myself.
According to this doc, I should disable 2FA with my lost phone first, then re-enable 2FA with my new phone. But I don’t have the old phone, because I lost it.
Any idea?
