I have my own domain. Why do the pictures in my posts link to wordpress.com?
-
I pay to have my own domain. http://rednectar.net. But any pictures that I add to my posts don’t get embedded with a rednectar.net url. Consequently, many people who have to work behind corporate web-surfing policys can see my posts, but not the pictures because their proxy has been programmed to filter wordpress.com.
Here is an example which embarrassed me today. I went to this post – http://rednectar.net/2011/06/23/understanding-the-network-statement-in-igp-configuration-on-cisco-routers/ and could see all the text, but no pictures, which took the wind out of my sails somewhat – I couldn’t work out why at the time, but now when I look at the source of that post I see that the links to the pictures are things like http://rednectar.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/fig1.jpg?w=448&h=259 – when they should be something like http://rednectar.net/xxxxxxxx.How do I convert these links to a http://rednectar.net url, and how can I make wordpress do this by default from now on when I add posts?
Blog url: http://rednectar.wordpress.com/ -
I’m sorry, we don’t offer a way to replace the media file path in the URL with a custom domain. That portion of the URL is necessary in order to load the correct media file from your library. I apologize for the inconvenience.
