I am trying to close this account. On the close account screen (even after entering the required info), the close account button is grayed out.
Please DELETE my account, I have never been a member of WordPress, and have not interest in becoming one.

I don’t see anything in your account that would prevent you from closing it, so this is likely a browser issue. Please clear your browser cookies and cache, then try again. If it still won’t work, please try using a different browser.
But only you can do this. For security reasons we cannot delete your account at your request. Only someone logged into the account can take this action.
I have never been a member of WordPress, and have not interest in becoming one.
This account was created on 21 January 2021, and owns the site, https://audiolivemusic.wordpress.com/. The account is verified and the site was publicly launched after it was created, which indicates someone was using it. If that wasn’t you, then it was someone who has access to your email account, as that’s the only way they’d have been able to verify the account.
So in that case you might want to tighten up security on your email account, to prevent any further possibly unauthorised access.
@anastas10s, the OP isn’t asking for instructions how to close their account. They’re reporting that the option isn’t available/working for them. -
How do I get this bloody thing to kill my account. I don’t need passive aggressive support people, or any more run around. I never signed up, at least support was nice enough to give me the email associated with this account. The previous support person said you will not help me delete the account. Ok, I got in to site, went to delete, it asks me type in part of my email. I tried numerous times. The delete button was ALWAYS grayed.
Look I just want to be done with this company. I have about as much interest in WordPress as I do for becoming an astronaut.

One has to go ahead with deleting their own account for security reasons, as mentioned above.
Therefore, your options are detailed here, in this document:
https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/There is a section with alternatives in there also, for you to consider, should you continue facing problems with the button greyed-out as you describe.

went to delete, it asks me type in part of my email
To close your account you must not type in part of your email, but your account username,
0colinmichael0. Please make sure that’s what you’re typing in the confirmation box.It must be typed exactly – the confirmation is case-sensitive, and will not work if you capitalize any letters, or if you, for example, substitute the zeroes with “O”s.
