I have no credits to purchase a CSS custom upgrade

I have no credits to purchase a CSS custom upgrade. What’s the best thing to do?
-
-
You can buy them right where in the UPGRADES section of your admin area. Play around there and you will find the right links. The fastest way to pay is if you have a paypal account!
Cheers,

Is there any way i can get the upgrade for free, like a free version or something? Sorry, I’m a newbie and I need to submit my wordpress project in less than 4 hours from now but i can’t edit the theme.
-
Afraid not with what we have here. You can grab the software from wordpress.org and try to find a free host though. You’ll be able to edit the CSS yourself with that version.
Good luck,

Yeah, of course, us skint people will donate credits to you instead of buying them for our own blogs… ;)
-
I can’t believe that you don’t have any money when you’ve got all those adverts all over your blog.
Bloodly hell….
Feedback sent.

Hahhahaahahaha!
k, tell me how much is 1 credit in plain English currency? Please don’t *grin I am new to buying credit..heheehe
:D -
If you go to the Upgrades section of your blog, I believe you’ll find all the information there. Different kinds of upgrades cost different amounts.
-
Paypal should tell you automatically but I believe the Pound to Dollar is about .5 currently. 15 US dollars translates into just under 8 pounds for example. Of course Paypal may have different rates.
Maybe we should start a scholarship fund or something. :)

re- 15 US dollars translates into just under 8 pounds
£8 quid..shock horror!!!
Err..hosting for a month:
One new domain:
A meal out:
Get my drift drmike?
:D :D :D
One thing I want to know who does the upgrades of the software round here?
Ok many thanks!

The $15 USD or 8 quid is for the year. That is really cheap to have the ability to have your site look the way you want in my opinion. All the software upgrades are done by the Automattic staff who own the wordpress.com service and they created it, so if anyone can upgrade it without problems, it is them!
Hope that clarifies that a bit for you!

Trent is comparing it if you went out and obtained hosting elsewhere. $15 for a year is nothing. Heck, even I charge $7.95 a month and $10 for a domain although I have about 80 on “scholarship.”

Excuse me but I think what Trent was pointing at was that $15 or 8 quid per year per blog for css customization of a theme is a modest price. I don’t think he was referring to hosting at all as he knows it’s free at wordpress.com

I was talking about what julienne was saying. I thought maybe somebody was telling her she had to pay for her hosting here (I’ve heard of that happening with unscrupulous people before, although not at WordPress).
-
Spend a buck or fifteen, for crying out loud!
Beggars can’t be choosers. Why does everyone expect freebies? If you are too cheap for this, then either settle for what you get, or go back to Blogger –a much less advanced system, with absolutely absurd (pretty much nonexistent) support.
$15.00/year amounts to less than a nickel per day. If you are too cheap for this, I’m suggesting a career change for you.
Don’t forget that you get hosting, including excellent unlimited bandwidth, for free at wordpress.com. Do you think that Automatic does not have to pay for this? Where do you think the money comes from? Don’t be a cheapskate. Pay up or shut up, please.

Ah, don’t write people off for asking. And they don’t seem to have the expectation that the answer will be a yes, they’re just casting their bread upon the waters. If it comes back as a soggy mess, so what? Miracles do happen, and I speak from experience.
You can ask for me to come over and paint your walls for free…and if you have pizza and horses I just might do it. You never know.
