I have no location box

I took the time to read every word of that page before I embarked on my plan to host my own website using a wordpress theme and nowhere does it warn that themes are not compatible and can’t be transferred between the two.
I find it pretty misleading in that respect. -
Here is just one example of the exact same Oxygen Location confusion going on:
-
Stephen, that’s right, there is a ton of confusion. It fooled me into wasting hours of trying to find the location box thingy, but I finally solved the problem with the showcase feature by setting the featured images to 750px.

I got my slider working too now but it doesn’t show up at all in Chrome on Android 4.4.4 on my Moto G.

I’m tagging this thread so Staff can confirm what I already stated above.
Themes licensed to run on WordPress.COM software cannot be exported and run on WordPress.COM software. WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you need help with a WordPress.ORG software install in the future and don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

I find it pretty misleading in that respect. You are right. This article is focused on helping people decide if WordPress.com or self-hosted WordPress is the right option for them and does not address moving between the two environments. We do have other articles that address transferring sites from one type of WordPress to the other, but I don’t suppose that helps you too much now.
I’ve read through this thread and it sounds like the issue you are working on now is the slider isn’t working on the Android tablet. I’m happy to look into that for you. Is there anything else?
-
One more follow up question: Does the slider on the demo page work on your tablet?
-
Thanks – I tinkered with the detailed Mobile settings (quite hard to fathom their explainations) in WP Admin to fix the mobile problem, after finding that other Oxygen sites worked fine on my mobile.
-
Glad you solved it, sorry it was a less than awesome experience. If you post to this thread in the future I’ll be alerted directly and will be happy to help however I can.
