I have no Plugin Menu in my Admin

Hey there, hope someone can help. I’m pretty new to this and my knowledge when it comes to this kind of stuff is pretty limited! I’ll go through exactly what I did to get the blog up and then tell you the problems.

I chose wordpress because it was recommended. I went to the site ‘www.wordpress.org/download’ where it said download, but didn’t. I took the other option to sign up on the linking site ‘getting a free account on WordPress.com’. Once that was set up and confirmed via email I went to start editing and adding to my blog. I realised I had the option to use plug ins for stuff like photo widgits etc. but when I went to my admin there was no Plugin Menu.

I’ve been through the support pages and tried downloading it but it requires that I unzip the files and I don’t have the appropriate software (any advice here would be good as I’ve come across this issue before when recieving zipped music files from my brother) I can get into them alright and open them via notepad but I figure that’s not use.

I’ve been to similar forums who have suggested all this and making sure that my name is linked to my blog – which it is – and then it said to talk to someone else and explain what I wanted to do.

I just want sperate sections for photos and videos to make my bolg funky and exciting for my readers back home, my old highschool and the company that I’m working for. Simple requirements but it’s turning into a bit of a chore because I don’t have a scooby what to do.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You don’t have the option to use plugins: plugins can only be used on WordPress.org blogs, the ones where you download the software and install it in your own webspace.

If you could be more specific about what you wanted your blog to look like and how you wanted it to behave, we could give you specific suggestions. Why not start by just making sure you do Posts, not Pages, and using categories to differentiate between videos, photos, stories, etc? Then put the Category widget in the sidebar and all the posts in each category will be available with one click from your front page.

Hi, I have the same problem. The plugin I’d need is for embedding objects in posts. We’d like to write posts about an embeddable Flash application and the nicest way would be to embed it. Is there any way to do it with a wordpress account?

Use the Vodpod button from http://vodpod.com

If that can’t do it, you just can’t do it at all at WP.com
