I have no Plugins in my dashboard

Hi, I’ve read that it’s only when you are hosted by WordPress, you have this promlem. But I did the domain mapping and everything (I’m hosted by HostGator) – But I don’t have the plugin option. Please help…

  • Domain Mapping is the upgrade you would purchase if you wanted to use a domain registered elsewhere (GoDaddy or 1and1 for example) with your WordPress.com site.

If you have a self-hosted site, you would want to point your domain to your webhost, not to WordPress.com

I’m registered at HostGator… So as I understand, there is nothing to do about my “missing plugin situation?”

    Best Regards

  • While plugins are common on self hosted WordPress sites, due to security concerns, they are not available on WordPress.com. There is more info regarding WordPress.com and plugins here:

    Plugins

However, we do have several built-in features that were inspired by many popular plugins. You might find what you want by searching for it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/

What feature are you looking to add with a plugin?

Also, for more information on the differences between WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress sites, please see:

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
