Are you in the UK? If you are then the issue is with your ISP, not with WordPress.com. See these please:

I’m sorry, but this is nonsense. This happened a month or so ago too. My ISP is NOT TalkTalk. I am using the same ISP that I have been using successfully for the last 6 months. This is NOTHING TO DO WITH MY ISP.

If you are firmly convinced you do not have an ISP issue and note that I am not convinced of that, then which troubleshooting steps have you undertaken?
In order to help you we need to know your specific computing environment details. Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state. -
my isp provider is the post office. the same one as my wife uses, and she is currently happily blogging away right now with her wordpress blog, using the same router from the post office that you say won’t allow me access to my wordpress blog.. I have not been able to get on my blog for over a week. the same thing happened a month or so ago and all i got from wordpress with this absolute nonsense about my taking the issue up with my isp.
i have tried accessing the blog using google chrome, internet explorer, and firefox, and get the same issue with each. i’ve also cleared the cache, cookies and browsing history. still no wordpress.as for running through your list of possible faults – i don’t understand how these will make any difference. i am using the same computer, with the same isp, with the same router, with the same browser as i was a week ago when my wordpress blog was working fine.

I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

This is a peer support forum where Volunteers ans Staff work cooperatively together to provide support. I’m a Volunteer who has been answering questions here for years longer than almost all Staff have been on Staff. There is a considerable backlog of threads awaiting Staff. Some Staff are away right now and those who remain are backlogged to the eyeballs.
Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in order of datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.
Don’t bump your thread because it’s not in your best interest to post to it after it has been tagged for Staff help. Don’t create a new thread or send an email either. When bloggers keep bumping any thread thinking they are going to get service from Staff more quickly they aren’t thinking straight because that moves the timestamps forward and it takes longer to get a response. The same is true if you email more than once the date moves forward and it takes longer to get help.

Hi there!
It looks like you were indeed being put through the IWF proxy that was causing the dashboard errors that timethief linked to.
The ISP issue was intermittent, meaning that sometimes users would get through and sometimes they wouldn’t. Even the same user on the same page would be able to access it one time, and not the next, which would explain why your wife had a fine connection and you didn’t.
If you’re still experiencing connection issues, let me know and I’ll look into it further for you!
