I have questions regarding site redirect.
-
I just purchased the site redirect upgrade and have a few issues/questions:
1) My current blog address is tyme2eat.com. I would like the address in the browser to read gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com.
2)When I set gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com as the site redirect, non of my current blog content shows up on that page.
3)I have changed the name of the blog in “Setting” to Gaia Goodness Natural Foods, however, when I search in Google, Tyme2Eat keeps on popping up.
4)How can I get gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com to show in the browser instead of tyme2eat.com?
5)Is there a way to copy my blog content from tyme2eat.com to gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com?
6)Why isn’t gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com or gaia goodness natural foods showing up in Google search? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
It sounds as if you’ve purchased the wrong upgrade for your needs. Site Redirect is just forwarding people from your blog to your new Custom Domain name. But you want the two things connected, not just forwarded. If you want gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com to display the blog gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com, what you need is Site Mapping.
If you would like, I can cancel Site Redirect, and add Site Mapping. They are the same cost, so you wouldn’t have to make another purchase, I’ll just transfer the $13 fee you already paid.
Just let me know how you’d like me to proceed.
Why isn’t gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com or gaia goodness natural foods showing up in Google search?
I see you only set up that domain a few days ago. It takes a while for new sites to be indexed by search engines. Here are details about that process:

Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much.

Hello. thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. Really appreciate that!
Well, now when I type gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com in the browser, it switches to tyme2eat.com and shows all the blog content which is great. However, will Tyme2Eat.com always show up in the browser? I don’t want clients getting confused when they see a different name pop up in the browser.
Also, I think I want to hold off on changing the blog’s web address to the domain – gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com. I might be using that domain for my actual company’s website. In which case, I will keep gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com as the new blog address.
So, it may not be necessary to do the switch from Site Redirect to Site Mapping, unless you disagree and think it’s still a better option.
At this point, I’m most concerned with making sure the address tyme2eat.com will now show up in the browser as gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com. And, that when Gaia Goodness Natural Foods is searched, my blog will come up in the results – which I now know can take a couple days.
Please advise. Thank you again for your response. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,
Shara

Hey Shara!
There can still be some streamlining of your domain/upgrades — I can help with that.
Could you clarify for me: from what I understand, no matter which of your blogs or domains is entered into the address bar, the user should always be sent to http://tyme2eat.com/. And the content they should view is from gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com.
Is that correct? If not, could you let me know?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks much!

Actually, it’s the opposite. The content is from tyme2eat.com, which is the original address and blog name, but I have changed the name to Gaia Goodness Natural Food and the user should be sent to gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com and viewing content from tyme2eat.com.
Please let me know if you need any more info.
Thank you!

So from my understanding you want this site:
found at the domain: gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com
Is that correct?
Please note that the domain: gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com never deletes, which is actually a good thing so if you one day decide not to renew any of your domains (tyme2eat.com or gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com) or they expire accidentally all your content will still be available at gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com.
If I were to change your primary domain to: gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com (I can leave the domain mapping for tyme2eat.com) this means that if your readers went to gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com or tyme2eat.com they will be automatically redirected to:
gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com
Currently your domain: gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com is attached to another site: gaiagoodnessnaturalfoodS.wordpress.com (with the S). I can transfer that to the site (gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com) with the domain mapping for: tyme2eat.com and set gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com as the primary, so that all your domains will redirect to gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com.
I know that this can be a bit confusing so feel free to reach out with any questions.

Hello Grace. I want to hold off on changing the blog’s web address to the domain – gaiagoodnessnaturalfoods.com. I will be using that domain for my actual company’s website.
When I type gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com in the browser, it switches to tyme2eat.com (in the browser) and shows all the blog content which is great. However, I don’t want clients getting confused when they see a different name pop up in the browser.
I want to keep gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com as the new blog address, I just want it to show up in the browser instead of tyme2eat.com.
Please advise. Thank you again for your response. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Best,

HI Shara,
In order to do this go to Store > My Domains in your Dashboard and set gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com as the Primary Domain.
Then you should be set!
Cheers!

I’ve done that before but non of my blog content shows up there. The original blog address is tyme2eat.com, which is where all of my blog content is. When I change the “Primary Domain” to gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com and click on the link, no content shows up on the page.

Exactly. That’s the problem I’m having. When people go to my blog, they can type in the browser gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com and get redirected to tyme2eat.com – which currently houses my blog content. However, I would like for gaiagoodnessnaturalfood.wordpress.com to show in the browser instead of tyme2eat.com AND be able to see all of my blog content on the page. Please let me know if I am explaining that clearly. Email can get a bit confusing :)
