I have received an email from WordPress and then they say if I don’t answer in the next 24 hours they will automatically renew and charge me. I don’t know if it is real as I have not been on the blog for a while. You have no right to charge me. If you wish to have me close down the blog I will comply.

You received that notice because you had set up autorenewal when you initially purchased the upgrade. It wasn’t meant as a threat or a scam, just as a notification that the autorenew charge was going to be run through because you were 30 days from expiration (the date when auto renewals are run).
Auto renewal can be canceled (or set up again) from the Store–>My Upgrades area of your Dashboard.
If you have no intention of using the upgrade, I can help you with a refund. Let me know.
