I have started a blog, but I don't want a blog, I want a website

it seems as though I have no clue as to what I’m doing here. I know exactly what I want, but I’m not sure how to achieve my goal. I need to completely stop this blog that I started….name and all because I need a website instead, with a new name. I’m just not sure how to do that….or any of this. Any help you give will be greatly appreciated.

You may already know this in which case ignore my reply.
WordPress.com (not WordPress.org) kinda assumes you are building a blog, not a regular website. That said, you do not need to create a blog. You do not need to create a Post Page or create any Posts.
In this case all you need to do is create pages to contain your content (along with widgets) and there you are. A non-blog website.
All that said, you can have both in one website.
Regarding name. Unless you use your existing domain name you will need to buy a custom domain name from WordPress (or use a domain name you bought outside of WordPress). Again, the site you create at that name does not have to be a Blog (but can be). At that new site you can define pages and no posts. However, most websites find a blend of pages and posts to be useful.

A blog is a website. The difference between blog and website is simply structure and semantics.
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one-way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
