I have the same problem as detailed in #3417685

I do not see how to attach screenshots to this message, so I will link instead to the two screenshots uploaded to my site:

The newest sitemap for https://sleepyholloweighties.wordpress.com includes this url: https://sleepyholloweighties.wordpress.com/blog/ . This is the url that causes the soft 404 error.
This should not be a standard url included in my sitemap, as I have two blog entries associated with the site. The offending url is not defined properly, as either blog might qualify as ‘blog.’ For example, either of these might be used as a proper blog url for a certain one of the blogs:Please help us identify these 1970s Univ. of Iowa J-School students!

I did type https://sleepyholloweighties.wordpress.com/blog/ into my browser, and the same blog does indeed appear in the browser without error. Apparently, the Google Search is sophisticated enough to catch the error, while my browser is not. Is it possible to stop the automatic submission of the sitemap, if it must include this particular url? -
Hi there!
The URL sleepyholloweighties.wordpress.com/blog/ will always display your blog feed – all your blog posts will appear there. As you noticed, this page exists and it’s not empty so the error you see shouldn’t be there.
Have a look at Google’s explanation of the error here:

You can try the URL Inspection tool to examine the rendered content as explained there but in general, I don’t think you should worry about the error.
