How do I change this bar that displays a random post?
I want to not have that at all, but not sure which setting to change

Hi there,
That is the featured content slider included in your theme. The post appearing there, is there because you added the tag “featured” to that post, and that tag is specified in the Customizer as the featured content tag for your site – any post tagged with that term will appear in the post slider.
To remove that post, either edit the post and remove that tag, or go to My Site ->Customize ->Featured Content and remove the tag there.
