I have to pay for a domain twice?

    I already bought my domain name from Godaddy but when I come here to connect it to my site, it’s saying I have to pay $13 for it. Why? When I already paid for the domain address with Godaddy, I just need to connect it. Am I doing something wrong?

    You are not doing anything wrong.

    There are two costs involved here.

    [1] The price you pay to GoDaddy for the domain.

    [2] The price you pay to WordPress.com to map your domain to WordPress.com blog.

    If you want to pay only one price, then try returning your domain to GoDaddy, get a refund and buy another domain from WordPress.com.

    However you may not be able to buy the same domain name again from WordPress.com.
