I HAVE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE
-
My site is no longer operative. There are no pictures and very little of the structure I built.

I couldn’t access your site. Are you using wordpress.COM and map the domain or is it a self hosted blog?
The difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org (self hosted blog) can be seen here:
-
The access is through lorigershon.wordpress.com
The site is hosted by TCNS. Here are their comments:
The part that TCNS does is link your domain name to your services through
DNS.1. We route your domain’s email through Bell
2. We route your domain’s website through wordpress.com
3. http://www.capco.ca is linked via CNAME to lorigershon.wordpress.com. -
http://www.capco.ca is not hosted by wordpress.COM. Our support docs do not apply to (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

ns2.tcns.com
ns3.tcns.comWordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

Sorry I was writing the comment while you’re replying. In this case you can opt for domain mapping and change the DNS. More info:
-
http://capco.ca/ – is hosted on WordPress.COM – however you are using some sort of forward and mask on it – not domain mapping or mapping a sub-domain – – we do not provide help with forward and mask problems

@elte
What you posted at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/i-have-to-speak-to-someone?replies=11#post-2553280 is correct because it is in part a copy and paste of my responses found in many threads. Please either create your own answers or backlink to mine. -
I do not understand at all. The only thing I copied was the explanation given me by TCNS regarding their role in the website.
-
In other words, you are telling me there is no place for me in WordPress. Correct?
As auxclass stated there is support for forwarding and masking.
WordPress.COM blogs do not have permanent IP addresses. IP addresses here can and do can change over time and your domain will stop working if you rely on them. For more information about domain mapping and IP addresses please read https://en.support.wordpress.com/ip-addresses/
As elte provided the instructions for properly mapping from an underlying .wordpress.com URL to an existing domain URL are at
https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/ -
-
The answer is yes because the Premium bundle contains a domain mapping upgrade in it.
However, you do not have to purchase a Premium upgrade as you can purchase a domain mapping upgrade withpout purchasing the bundle of upgrades.
WordPress.com provides free blogs and hosts them free of charge. There are no bandwidth charges. All WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images. Free features are listed here https://en.wordpress.com/features/
See here for details of all 3 plans http://store.wordpress.com/bundles/ offered by WordPress.com.
Make sure you read the comparison very closely do you know exactly what the restrictions and limitations on WordPress.COM blogging are: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you would like to move your self-hosted WordPress.org site over to WordPress.com, you can follow the guide at Moving from a Self-Hosted WordPress to WordPress.com

How can I have a self-hosted WordPress.org website when I never had any contact with WordPress.org when setting up the site? And the same people who are telling me they can’t help me offered large amounts of support when I was setting up the site in 2000. The site has been running since 2000 with little or no problem until now; now it has been effectively shut down. Who did that? Why? How can I put it back together? Further, how can I do domain mapping without involving TCNS, which has held the rights to capco.ca for many years? I have an urgent need to have this site up and running. I do not understand why you can’t help me do that.
-
@timethief my sincere apology for not including backlink. I’ll do that in the future.
@lorigershon
Since you set up the blog at lorigershon.wordpress.com let’s assume it’s working fine (from what I checked)You wanted capco.ca to point at lorigershon.wordpress.com. There are 2 ways to do this.
The first is masking and forwarding, which you’ve been doing and seems broken now. WordPress.COM didn’t provide support for masking and forwarding, you have to ask your domain provider.
The second choice is to map the domain from lorigershon.wordpress.com admin to capco.ca, and it cost $13. You still need access to domain management in order to change the nameserver from ns2.tcns.com to ns1.wordpress.com
-
Thank you for making that clear. I will follow up. However, the website is not
working fine
. It has practically no pictures nor structure. It was working fine until a couple of weeks ago. It is now a series of texts with some links.
-
I shouldn’t have tried to get fancy. The entry above should read
However, the website is not “working fine”…..
-
Unless you or someone who has access to lorigershon.wordpress.com and made changes, most likely the site won’t be broken out of sudden.
So, your problem is now:
1. Broken wordpress.COM content
2. Domain capco.ca is not mapped properly.I assume your site were hosted somewhere else before, how long have you had access to lorigershon.wordpress.com?
