I have two different dashboards. Why?

Sorry, I thought this was a live board.

I have bluehost and for some reason, I have two different admin pages. One on Bluehost and another on WordPress itself. I can’t properly manage my website and it’s frustrating. I have been with customer support on Bluehost for TWO days and they can’t figure it out.

  • Hi there,

    Are you speaking of http://shaunwebbmedia.com/?

The forum you’re posting in now is for WordPress.com. We’re a hosting provider, like Bluehost, and if your site is hosted by Bluehost, it means it’s not hosted with us, and it’s using the open source WordPress software made on WordPress.org, which is not the same thing as WordPress.com.

The primary admin interface for your site is what you’ll find if you go to http://shaunwebbmedia.com/wp-admin. You should have received the login credentials for your admin account on that site from Bluehost when you first set up your site with them.

The site is also listed here in your WordPress.com username account, because you have linked the site here via the Jetpack plugin. That plugin gives you access to a number features that are standard for sites hosted on WordPress.com, but not standard for the open source version of WordPress.

These features include access to our comments, subscriptions and CDN, site stats, a number of widgets and editor blocks, automated sharing to social media and sharing buttons, as well as security and backup features.

Jetpack also allows you to manage content on your site via our WordPress.com interface instead of the default WP-Admin interface, and you can use whichever one you prefer to manage your site.

You can find more information about the Jetpack plugin’s features at https://jetpack.com/support, and you can get help with those features at https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support
