  I have two expired mapped domains (which are managed in an external DNS). How can I renew those mappings? In the domains area of WordPress I can see the expired domains but there is no option to pay to renew the mapping. I was not alerted to the mapping expiring. And I can’t seem to do anything about it. So wondering what to do?

  Hi, that article is about domains which have expired, whereas my issue is the MAPPING in WordPress has expired. The domains are fine and are on auto-renew. But because they are managed outside of WordPress when we setup the mapping that had an expiring date just for that. And I can’t see how to sort it out. The domain names are dowhat.com and dowhat.com.au

  If that’s the case then you need to renew your plan as the domain mapping comes with the paid plan. If you haven’t renewed the plan just do it now so that your mapping can also start working.

  Note: You can add the custom domain or map your domain to your site if you are under any of the paid plans. So if you are not under any of the paid plans then you need to upgrade to the paid plans to use domain mapping to your site.

  Thanks for your feedback but that has not helped. I upgraded to the personal plan. When I click the “Domains” menu I see the two mapped domains for which the mapping has expired. If I click on the name of the domain I get taken to the domain settings which says it has expired. Clicking payment settings just goes to the page which says I am on the personal plan. If on domains I click on the claim free domain link and then click the option to use a domain I own and connect it manually, I enter “dowhat.com.au” and click “Add” and it just sits there and does nothing. I can see how to renew a plan, but I can’t see any way to renew an expired mapped domain. Or remove the two expired mapped domains and start again.

  All sorted now using WordPress support who had to change something to do with the mappings

  Hi there,

  Those domain mappings are not expired. The mapping upgrade on our system for dowhat.com only expires on 27 November, and the mapping for dowhat.com.au expires on 21 October.

  But those two mapping upgrades do not belong to your account. They belong to the user, dowhatcorporate, who also owns the site itself, and you’ll need to be logged in as that account to make any changes to these upgrades.
