I have written a post, how do I get it onto a page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To be clear there is only one page we can post to in any blog. We can only create the appearance of posting to multple pages.
You assign categories and/or tags to draft posts prior to publishing them. You create a custom menu and include the URLs for the dynamic Categories and/or Tags pages in it and when the draft is published, all posts will be automatically updated on those dynamic Categories pages.
By default the front page of the blog is the post that displays all posts in your blog in reverse chronological order with the most recent post on top. Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
Among the most common misconceptions is that bloggers fail to understand is
(1) there is only one page we can post to in any blog and
(2) the static pages http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ they create do not automatically update. Please read this support doc as Pages and Posts http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ are not the same.
Please also read this support doc as Pages (static) https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ and category pages (dynamic) https://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/ are not the same.
Only the dynamic pages like Categories, Tags and Archives created by the software when we publish a post we that we have assigned Categories and Tags to will update automatically update with new posts. https://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/
We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

This way of explaining it seems like it still might be confusing to users. Also, the last reply is very long and has a TON of links. It seems pretty daunting to me. I wonder if it would be more helpful to people if the first reply to questions about menus was a bit shorter. I’ve been reading through some of the questions about menus, and I think most often they need to start with this:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/I’m going to try to work on this and then post something shorter in a 2nd reply here.

I have written a post, how do I get it onto a page?
Posts will appear in one of two main places by default:
1. Your home page
2. Whatever you selected for the “Posts page” in your Customize > Static Front Page > A static page sectionPosts will also appear on category pages automatically. If you add a category and publish a post first, then you will be able to add that category as one of the links in your custom menu if you’d like:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/Note: categories must be added to posts first and only then can a category be added to a custom menu. It must be done in the proper order. To learn how to add a category (the first step), start here:
-
Try to add page and not post. You can find pages in your dashboard lefthand side two positions down to your posts. Add new pages and see the magic.:)

Sure it would be and as I find the support doc on custom menus is so dense these are the relevant links that those I help (who do not post here at all) use:

http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/
http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/07/25/create-a-wordpress-website-step-by-step/I am not able to invest any time at all into helping with each individual and usually mucked up site. That’s because I’m multitasking from my business (supervising), and I’m also running the chron jobs for my contracted work on 2 other computers when I answer questions here on a third one.
I’m going to try to work on this and then post something shorter in a 2nd reply here.
Okay. I will backlink to whatever copy and paste you create.
