I [heart] WordPress logo competition

Since when a farting gnome is considered slightly vulgar?
If we keep having to think what people might think we’ll never get anywhere
:)
-
Appreciate that last comment. I was emailed from someone on another site, that he was vulgar and was basically told off for posting him, so now I post him everywhere I get a chance, but with a disclaimer for the sites I like…lol

I LOVE the penguin. And, I’m I keen on every new entry, except for the farting gnome, whom I could live without. I’m not offended but ask me no questions and I’ll tell you no lies. Even though the gnome’s ass is plaster, in accord with the “no nudity” rule – his ass is grass. :D lol
-
pinguin1987, that was a great clip! And bargainprofessor – good lord! I hope that was not a real gnome.

Hi! So… I made some images, they’re very close to the NY thing (at least, I think they are)
There’s a star badge, a corner image and a band, for light & dark backgrounds. Check them all out here:

I’ll be waiting for your comments!

I have come with this simple and clean logo. I hope you guys like it.

I like that exesoflbue, small but beautifully formed.
Here is my offering: http://www.endoflevelboss.org/2006/07/23/i-heart-wordpress/

Hi! Here is my contribution to the campaign:
http://www.honma.de/blog/wp-photos/Misc/wordpress-campaign.png
I had problems using my Photoshop-Elements here at home, ’cause I missed many features from the big Photoshop. So the typography isn’t set proper. Additionally I didn’t know which font was used for the original WordPress-logo. Hope you like it anyway.

Definitive version of my logos. The first one in black and white. The second one with a touch of red-pink in the heart. Thanks :)

@sunburntkamel: Thank you for info and compliment! Yes, it’s the first time I get in direct touch with the WordPress-community. Seams to be a creative and fun crowd of people.
-
@bargainprofessor – I sure hope we’re not on shaky ground. I mean it’s not like your bare bummed buddy is family or anything, right? ;D
@felipeplavin – Clean and crisp logos – good show!
@execsoftblu – What a great button. I particularly like the fact it’s red.:)
@baxter – Your’s is the first design made in contemplation of being a tatoo too. How cool.
@honma – good one! It’s also great to hear that your first contact with the WP community has been both creative and enjoyable.
@dandya – I like both versions of your submission very much. They are clean and the understated PINK blush adds a touch of feminity that the original logo and in fact all other submissions lack. :D
WordPress is obviously THE most creative, diverse and supportive blogging community there is. Anyone can get into this fun with logo art project and have a great time doing so. So if you’re out peaking and geeking why don’t you take a break pull out your crayons and become a contributing “artist” too? :D
-
I haven’t played with crayons since i was 5.
The new entries are all very cool …
May be I’ll have another go at it later tonight
:)

we can paint with our minds! it’s just that our hands don’t like to cooperate so we use photoshop or inkscape or whatever software-body extension :P
-
Timethief….No we’re definately not on shaky ground. i am concerned though, that my fun post of the farting gnome got more comments than either of my two wp entry posts……:-0 Oh well Alot of great posts here . very talented people are on WordPress
-
@bargainprofesser – Nah, I didn’t overlook or forget your serious contributions and I’m sure others didn’t either. Moreover, comic relief is always a good thing, no?
I believe there’s lots more talent out there in the WordPress ranks. But the artificial barrier has to be cleared first. If we weren’t crayon masters as kids then we grow up thinking we can’t draw. What nonsense. Kudos to evolvingtrends for blowing that myth out of the water. There’s a companion myth too that goes with childhood experiences with music. Technology sets us all free to create at will regardless of “natural abilities” so I’m expecting that even more WP bloggers will enter the fray today. If you can imagine it – you can do it.:)
