I imported my other wordpress site's XML and my new webpage got messed up!

Both my old and new wp webpage are fully updated(4.2.2 and all the plugins) but when I imported the XML file of my old wp webpage to my new wp webpage, the new wp webpage got messed up instead of becoming a reflection to the old wp webpage. What’s likely causing this? What do I do to get my new wp webpage to become a copy of my old wp webpage?

    Hey there freebutrespect,

Are you moving your site from wordpress.com to self-hosted or anything like that?

It could be that something like a different theme or something like that is causing some issues.

I’ve also done this in the past and had to go back into the Customization menu and put certain things back to where I wanted them to be.

    Hey backj3015,

I’m moving my wp site from customdomain1.com to customdomain2.com and both are hosted by different webhoster services.

The wp theme was purchased from themeforest and has been properly customized. Yeah, some parts of the site were right where they should be just like on the old site when imported but everything else is missing. I’ve also tried using filezilla and phpmyadmin(although I’m not sure if I’ve used them properly, it’s my first time you knw) and no luck, I’m at a loss :(

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

This site is for support of sites hosted on WordPress.COM. You should address your questions to WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using: http://wordpress.org/support/

The forum at WordPress.ORG is not connected to WordPress.COM so you will need to open an account at .ORG if you do not already have one. You may use the same email at WordPress.ORG as you do at WordPress.COM.

For more on the difference: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you are asking for help with a WordPress.COM site then we need a link to that site to give you accurate help.

    Hey freebutrespect,

I believe you will find what you need on WordPress.org instead of .com

These forums are for WordPress hosted sites and .org is for self-hosted sites which seems to be your case.

I hope you get the help you need there! :)
