I just discovered BuddyPress and downloaded the zip file. I have several blogs..

I have several blogs through WordPress, I love your product. I thought BuddyPress was what I was looking for to take my project to the next step. I tried to find the Plugin Admin panel to activate the link, assuming it would be on the dashboard. I am not a tech wiz and after reading some of the help topics such as:Plugins are tools used to extend the functionality of the WordPress platform. However, they are only applicable to self-hosted blogs and web sites using the WordPress.org software. Plugins are not permitted here at WordPress.com for various security reasons…..I am unsure how to continue. My main website is hosted at GoDaddy with what I call a “family” of sites which are WordPress blogs, promoted on that site. The concept is to draw users to the individual blogs through the main website http://myallacrossamerica.com/ The project itself is still in development and as I said it appeared that BuddyPress was what I was looking for in the networking capacity. Any help or direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rick Ondrusek

Hi there,
As you mention, plugins aren’t allowed here at WordPress.com. You would need to build a self-hosted WordPress site in order to use plugins.
We do have a list of recommended hosts here:
http://get.wp.com/hosting/We can only offer support for blogs hosted here at WordPress.com.
But if you need assistance with a self-hosted WordPress installation, you can visit the WordPress.org forums:
