I just don’t understand how it works…

  Hi.

  First, I had a blog on http://www.tattoogirl.wordpress.com
  After, I bought a domain name : http://www.tattoogirl.ca

  My question is : If http://www.tattoogirl.wordpress.com is redirected to http://www.tattoogirl.ca, can I create a new post via wordpress (write a new post) and it will appear on tattoogirl.ca ? I just don’t understand how it works…How can I create a new post now?

  That is exactly now it would work for you. Once you have the domain pointing to the wordpress DNS name servers and add it through your admin area, it will give you an option to “put blog here” beside tattoogirl.ca and that directs all traffic to that site. You can still login through tatoogirl.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ or through tatoogirl.ca/wp-admin/ as they are the same thing now. All posts created will show up on your site no matter what you are redirecting it to!

  It’s not working :(

  I already have an account with my registrar (tattoogirl.ca) to create a webpage. But someone told me that I can still create new post with WordPress and it will be redirected to tattoogirl.ca

  So I wanted to know if I write a new post on WordPress, will they appear on tattoogirl.ca? Because it’s not working for the moment.

  I’m sorry I’m a newbee concerning domain, mapping, etc…

  P.S.: It’s tattoogirl.wordpress.com who’s pointing to tattoogirl.ca…

  I think you were told the wrong information. Unless you pay WordPress.com for the domain upgrade, your posts won’t redirect to tattoogirl.ca. You need to get that upgrade to make this work, even though you’ve registered your name elsewhere already. You can find the instructions for that here:

  Okay so if I understand, I have to pay to have my new post (created in WordPress) to appears on tattoogirl.ca? As you said, I think I were told the wrong information…I though it was free.

  You own a domain. The blog is free. When you purchase the upgrade you are paying for a year’s worth of domain mapping and hosting service provided by wordpress. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/10/domain-mapping/

  But where can I buy a domain mapping? I already bought credits for the domain name (on wordpress) but I cannot see how I can buy an upgrade for the domain mapping. Even if I go in “Upgrade” and then “Domain”…

  Actually, I see a WordPress.com blog at tattoogirl.ca, so it is working. Have you published a lot of posts at WordPress yet? I see only one sentence, and that’s an error message.

  There could be an issue with the way the domain mapping has occurred. On Monday, send a Feedback to staff and they’ll look at it and make sure things are okay.
