I just get .. the URL is not valid and cannot be loaded

  I get the URL is not valid and cannot be loaded when I click on my avatar on a comment I have left.

  Is this because I have paid to use my own URL?

  No, it is because whatever you have put under your “Website” on your Profile page, the URL is not a valid one. Please paste it here, starting with http so we can see where the fault lies.
