I just lost my widgets display and most of my themes – poof! Why?

  Happy to inform I found my flag counter… :-)

  I would like some help with a small issue, though – the archives are not in the drop-down mode, instead all months are listed there, occupying a lot of space

  I could not figure out how to change it back to the way it was – is it possible in this new theme?

  @sallybr Yes, you can do that by going into Appearance > Widgets, open the Archives widget and check the box that says “Display as a drop down.”
