Hi there!
I think there was a bit of confusion here. It doesn’t matter if the extension of your domain is .org or .com…you still have a WordPress.COM site registered.
If you want plugins, you’ll need a self-hosted site via WordPress.ORG.
I know the difference between .com and .org can get confusing, so here’s a breakdown of the benefits of each:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Third party plugins cannot be installed on WordPress.com sites. This is a security risk as we cannot vet all outside code and it puts our users, their sites, and our servers at risk.
Plugins are only usable on self-hosted WordPress.org sites.
Sometimes, even without the installation of a plugin, we can help you gain the function you’d like here at WordPress.com. If you let me know your goals, perhaps I can help further.
Please let me know! Cheers.
