I just upgraded my domain but would like to cancel it.

  I just upgraded my domain, but would like to cancel it because I realized that the name needs to be changed before I can upgrade, but you are gone until after the 48 hours I have to cancel. Can you help me with this? By the way how do I change the name of my domain? Thank you for your help regarding this matter!

  I am not sure what you mean by this. Can you please tell us the domain you want, and the domain you currently have (the whatever.wordpress.com one) and maybe we volunteers can help?

  If you mean you’d like to cancel the domain Whatever.com that you bought and get DifferentWord.com then you will indeed need staff intervention. I’ll flag this thread for their attention.

  I just created a new blog and bought a new domain as well from WordPress. I made a mistake and forgot to put “www” in the beginning of my domain I bought which is “irfanghaffar.net”. What options do I have now?? I want my domain name as “www.irfanghaffar.net”. Should I cancel this name and get my money back and then buy another one? Or you guys can do some magic and update the name for me??

  WordPress.com automatically removes the “www” from all URLs. Mapping the “www” subdomain is not supported. Also, we do not currently allow mapping to subdirectories, such as example.com/blog. From: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/#instructions-for-mapping-subdomains

  @blessedenough: Cancelling through the forums was the only option during the Holidays because the contact form was closed. Today, it would be quicker to contact staff directly.
