  Hi there,

  Pointing the domain here won’t help if you don’t also have a mapping upgrade to complete the connection on this end. The only way to connect a domain registered somewhere else to a WordPress.com site is via our domain mapping upgrade:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
