  • Hi there,

What is the URL of the site in reference? The only WordPress.com site that I see is costaricatefl.wordpress.com which has no content.

    Let us know. Thanks!

If your website has been displaying the message “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance” for more than 10 minutes and you are currently running an add to your site, it may be possible that there is an issue with the update process or the ad integration.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check your website’s error logs: This can give you more information on what might be causing the issue.
    2. Clear your website’s cache: Sometimes, cached content can cause conflicts with new updates or ad integrations.
    3. Disable the ad temporarily: If you suspect that the ad integration might be causing the issue, you can try disabling the ad temporarily to see if it fixes the problem.
    4. Try accessing the website from a different browser or device: This can help determine if the issue is isolated to a specific browser or device.
    5. Contact your website hosting provider: They may be able to provide more information on what might be causing the issue.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to consider reaching out to a website developer or technical support for further assistance.

  • Thanks @maximusmccullough. @costaricatefl , I believe that advice will apply well if you’re using a copy of WordPress with another host.

If you have a site on our services that has frequent maintenance messages, please share a link to it so we can help you find the right account and take a look. You’d get direct support with that, and really you shouldn’t be seeing maintenance messages like that so often, so we’d want to help.

If it’s with another host, your host should be able to help, especially with the guide @maximusmccullough gave. Then, going forward, note these forums are primarily for our free tier hosting. You’ll want to be sure to use the forums for the free, DIY WordPress code instead.

Here are the major differences, but in short, we provide hosting, maintenance, security, spam filtering, and direct support for your WordPress site, and realtime backups if your plan includes them. Let us know if you have any questions about our services.

    Cheers!
