I keep hitting the daily CPU limit
-
So I’ve just started up my first online ecommerce store, so I’m still not entirely familiar with everything. But my account keeps getting 24 hour suspensions for reaching the daily CPU limit. The site is not operational yet, so does not get any traffic through it apart from me, the admin, as I continue to build and develop it. I’m not really sure what a CPU limit is or why I keep going over it. If anyone could help I’d appreciate it. I did download a plugin called query monitor as advised by someone to find any plugins that may be causing this, but I can’t seem to even find the plugin, so if anyone can point me in the direction of where to access that plugin I’d appreciate it. Also I’m not sure if this is important, but often I’ll hit the 50% CPU limit and I’ll stop for the day, then during the night while I’m not using the site it’ll notify me that I’ve then hit the 100% CPU limit. Does the CPU limit continue to be used even when the website is not being used or has no traffic going through it? Again I’m a novice, so this may be basic stuff, but any help will be appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi there, we don’t have any CPU limits here, and I don’t see any WordPress.com sites under your account here.
What is the URL of the site with the problem?

Hi, so I think I’ve realised my mistake. I’ve posted this here because I’m using wordpress to build my site etc, however my website is hosted with profreehost, so I think I need to bring up this problem with them rather than wordpress. But incase you still need it, my website is AfterDarkOnline.co.uk

Yeah, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites hosted elsewhere; we can only assist with sites hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.As you said, you’ll want to reach out directly to your host to get help with this.
For other issues with self-hosted sites, you’ll post to the community forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
