When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

Do you still need help or are you okay now?

  • Hi there,

Your domain setup appears completely messed up to me. It’s working, yes, but it’s not working the way it should.

In the parisfortheholidays account you have a Site Redirect upgrade that’s redirecting the WordPress.com site, daybaseballgames.wordpress.com, to the domain, parisfortheholidays.com and in the boston55 account you have a Site Redirect upgrade that’s redirecting the WordPress.com site, daybaseballdotcom.wordpress.com to the domain, daybaseball.com.

The Site Redirect upgrade is for when you want to direct traffic AWAY from your WordPress.com site to a completely different site.

If you want either of your WordPress.com sites to show at that domains you need the Domain Mapping upgrade instead. You appear to have things set up at GoDaddy through a process called domain masking, which makes it look like it’s working, but in actual fact it’s going to cause people problems when they try to comment on or follow your site, it prevents us from tracking the stats on your site accurately, and it completely breaks the mobile responsiveness of your theme.

Please let me know exactly how you want things set up, i.e. which WordPress.com site showing at which domain, and I can help you fix this.

You can read more about how domain mapping works here:
