I like to add photos to the "photos" column on my site

Hi there. The images sidebar automatically shows images from your last nine posts that have images. I don’t think it’s possible to add images directly to that sidebar without including them in a post first. See your theme’s support page for more information: https://wordpress.com/themes/ideation-and-intent/
To add images/galleries without adding them to posts, you’ll need to use the image or gallery widget in the regular sidebar. You can add those widgets by going to Appearance ->Widgets in the dashboard.

Thank you for your helpful answer. I added a gallery widget to the side bar. For some reason I have a photos sidebar between my posts and my sidebar with some images on it. dont know how it got there and cant get rid of it now.

The photos sidebar is a feature of your theme. As I said above, it automatically shows images inserted into your most recent posts.
I quickly uploaded that theme to my test blog, and it doesn’t look like there’s a way to disable that sidebar. You might be able to hide it using CSS, but you’ll need the Custom Design upgrade for that. Let me know if you want more information on that.

Thank you Kokkieh! I quite like the photos sidebar, but it doesn’t automatically show images inserted in my most recent posts. That is the problem. it has some old photos on it, that I can not change and the new ones don’t go on it at all. What can i do to have it work right?

I understand. I’ll tag this for staff to look into why the photos sidebar won’t update anymore. Please be patient while waiting for their response.

Hi Sissi,
Did you recently start using the new editor at https://wordpress.com/post to create your posts?
Someone else using the same theme on their site reported that the photo sidebar isn’t working correctly when posts are created in the new editor. We’ve reported that to our team but we aren’t sure yet why that’s going wrong.
You can try creating a new post in the classic editor to see if the sidebar works the way you expect it — here’s a direct link to that editor:

Thank you rachelmcr! I will save the link and use it for my next blog next week! Hope it works.

Thank you rachelmcr!!! Your idea was great. Thank you for sending the link to the classic editor. It worked!!!

Rachelmcr or anybody, I don’t think my last post was automatically emailed to my subscribers. How can I check it?
-
Hi Sissi! Did you not receive the email notification for that post, or did one of your followers mention that to you? (If it was a follower who told you, it would help to know their username or email address so I can check that on our end.)
p.s. I’m glad the classic editor is working well for you! :)

I signed up as a follower and didn’t get it. So I sent it to me as an email…not sure if any of my other followers got the automatic email. I think it happened, because I used the classic editor again like you recommended.

Hi Sissi,
I checked your followers, and they did receive the email notification without any trouble. I also see that you re-followed your site, so you’ll receive email notifications for new posts from now on, too.
Right now everything is working as expected, but if you notice any more issues with email notifications please let me know!
