I lost my banner/images

    Hey, I recently changed my domain name from katiekacvinskybooks.wordress.com to katieraybooks.wordpress.com. I changed it in my account settings, that’s all I changed. Now, all the photos and banners I had up are not loading. It’s like they’re still associated with my old domain name. How do I carry them over? Thanks!

    Hi Katie,

    I am not sure if there’s a direct fix to this from your side. It looks like an issue on the server side.

    I searched for other similar posts and most of them were resolved by staff. So I’ll just add a modlook tag here and someone from the moderators/staff will respond to you.

    Hi @katiekaz, that’s quite odd. It looks like only the sidebar and header image were incorrect. I was able to fix the references so they point to the current site.

    Are you missing any other images?

    Hi, @omkarbhagat and @supernovia, Thanks so much for helping me out. It looks like all the images have transferred over now, the only thing that didn’t is the icon next to the new url. For some reason, that is still associated with the old domain. If you get a second, @supernovia, can you check it out? Thanks much.

    Hi @katiekaz, ah. I don’t know what the icon was before and don’t have a simple way of deducing that. But you can go ahead and re-update it. Here’s how:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/

    Do note, those icons can take a while to refresh in your browser. That’s pretty normal. You should be able to see it in another browser though once you’ve updated it properly.
