i make chanes nothing happens (cache issue?)

    I don’t know a lot about cache but there’s something that’s driving me crazy.

    I’m editing different things in a wordpress theme:
    * default.css
    * favicon.ico
    * different thumbnails

    and in all cases there are a lot of weird things, I’m usually receiving OLD files even though some of them do not exist anymore or they’ve been overwritten by something new.

    I’ve deleted cached, cookies, temp files, close browsers, etc in Firefox and IE, but nothing seems to fix the problem. In some cases, the changes eventually come, but in others I’ve waited like 5h and nothing :S (ie, the files were deleted 5h ago, but if you hit directly the URL they’re still retrieved, even though they don’t exist anymore :S )

    Sometimes the changes appear after 30h or so, but in the case of the favicon.ico is taken even longer.

    I’ve read “http://codex.wordpress.org/I_Make_Changes_and_Nothing_Happens”, and I would be in point 4 of Test Yourself:
    “If nothing changes, delete the file (and only that file) from the server and try to view the file again. If nothing continues to change, you and WordPress are looking at completely different files. It’s time to get out your detective hat and start tracking down what is going on and where your files went to. “

    Any clue what could be causing this? Where are the files I delete coming from (for about 15-30mins?)?

    PS: I asked my hosting provider and they said they’re not caching anything either…
