I misstyped my e-mail at registration and can't change it?!

    Hi! I can login fine, but I had a typo in my email when I registered and no matter what I do I can’t seem to change it… and I never get a confirmation mail. Help!? and THANKS! (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Hi there,

    I see on your user records where you’ve tried using our Change Email Address steps — but when your old email wasn’t verified those steps don’t work yet.

    Login and visit your /wp-admin/ dashboard. Do you see a prompt at the top that looks like this?

    Select “Send to Another Email Address” and you should be all set to verify with the correctly spelled email. :)

    Looked a little more and saw that all our emails to your correctly spelled address aren’t getting through either.

    The email address you provided was to this domain:

    hubert-associates.com

    And that would appear to be an unregistered domain.

    I’m afraid until that domain is setup you’ll need to use another email address.

    THANKS Alex! Hmm, hubert-associates.com should be registered, and internic says it is (see below) as does http://who.is/whois/hubert-associates.com. Why does it come up non-registered for you? Anyway, I tried your tips (had tried that already before) to no avail. Every time I “save” the page and refresh, it reverts back to the misspelled initial email entry, and I never get a confirmation email :-(

    I’ve tried everything (I think) several times. This is definitely a bug :-)
    Thanks for any tips! … or do I have to delete my accounts and create completely new from scratch.

    Hmm, the whois being different is definitely unexpected. I see it as registered today, so let’s just chalk that up as something weird on my end.

    The error here still boils down to the emails are being sent to your correctly spelled email, but they’re bouncing. The email server from hubert-associates.com is sending this error back to us:

    status=bounced (host relay.frei.net[213.164.64.86] said: 577 5.1.1 <(email visible only to moderators and staff)>: Recipient address rejected: undeliverable address: Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=mail.ricwave.com type=AAAA: Host not found (in reply to RCPT TO command))<

    Are you still receiving other emails to that address? Can you make sure WordPress.com is white-listed in your email service?

    Thanks, I contacted my provider with this and all of the sudden I received the confirmation mail. Without your feedback, we’d probably have not found it. So thanks again!
