i need a little help with catagories

  i want to make it so i have a featured post of the day. i want it to stay up there until the next post that has the categorize stamp replaces it. i also want the rest of the posts to still blog under it.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Be a little more patient; the average response time on a support forum is in excess of 13 hours.

  I don’t know what you mean by “the categorize stamp”. Do you mean the next post in the same category? We need more clarification. You can always make a post Sticky under “Visibility” on the Edit page, in t sidebar on the right. Then you just unstick it.

  Is this the blog you are talking about http://ragesage.wordpress.com/ ?

  You can do this manually each day using the stick post feature. Set a post as sticky, then the next day, “unstick” that post and make another sticky.

  There is no automatic way to do this at wordpress.COM.

  For self-hosted blogs, there are some themes that will do this, but not here. In general, this sort of feature is theme specific. There might also be some plugins for self-hosted blogs that will do this, but I’ve never researched it.

  Also, we are all volunteers here and 8 or 10 minutes isn’t really that long to wait. In this forum you will get responses much faster than any other forum I’m aware of.

  i want it so that the newest post in the category will be displayed in this spot. so say i update “bugs” today the top will show my post. everyother post that is not in bugs will appear under it. than when i post in “bugs” the next time (or any of my friends post bugs) it will be in the top spot.

  No, that is not possible to automate. The category page already works that way for each category, though. Just not the main blog, because how would it know which category you wanted on top? Just use the sticky function.

  Hi. I’d like to create a post that leads readers to a longer excerpt from a book I’m writing.
