I Need A Refund

In trying to register term my domain name, the directions led me to another domain mapping which I already had. So I have mapping but no registration. I’m seeking a refund, since “registration” is $5 and I just paid another $12.

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all of our upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. You can request the refund yourself directly from your Dashboard. http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/#refunds If you cannot accomplish that you can email Staff at support@wordpress.com

You domain is currently registered elsewhere, so you’ll need renew the domain registration there.
What you did here was renew your domain mapping subscription twice, so now it’s good through 2013. Would you like me to refund one of those renewals, or leave it as is?

I would love to have one refunded. My domain is no longer registered elsewhere. I would love to have it registered through wordpress.com

You allowed the domain name linked to your username to expire. That’s a bad scenario because it looks like it’s already been squatted. In other words it’s no longer yours – you no longer own it.

Can’t register it here until your old registrar releases it from the grace period – be a couple of months for that to happen I think. Internet rules, and you run the risk that a domain squatter will grab the domain and register it and then if you want your old name you will need to pay a lot of money to the squatter for it.
