WordPress.COM blogs do not have permanent IP addresses. IP addresses here can and do can change over time and your domain may stop working if you rely on them. For more information about domain mapping and IP addresses please read https://en.support.wordpress.com/ip-addresses/
What is the domain URL?

Hi there.
The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s name servers to the following values:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM
However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records, accordingly.
If you still want to map your domain using A records, please be sure to create two records using these IP addresses:
192.0.78.25
192.0.78.24
Thanks!

Hi! I’m starting to get very frustrated bc my website has been down for almost two weeks, and I am losing business. I need this resolved asap. I have put the IP addresses in the A Host spots, and it is not working. This is what it looks like. Are these addresses still accurate? It has never worked…I added these addresses where it says Host A http://www.thevitalmama.com points to…
192.0.78.24
192.0.78.25 -
@krystalross928 – since you don’t have domain mapping I doubt it will ever work $13.-/yr
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
No Domain Mapping Found
There is no domain mapping upgrade for thevitalmama.com. If you would like to use this domain you will first need to set up domain mapping.
-
That is perfectly fine. I didn’t realize I had to do that (as you can see in previous messages that was not made clear). So once I pay the $13 and “map it” then it will work with that IP address?
-
Ok. I just paid the $13 for mapping. I changed my DNS records at wix to thevitalmama.com points to (A Records) the 192.0.78.25
192.0.78.24
I am so lost. Will this work?
-
Probably – but A records are not my best area – but staff-doublebassd should check back and help later
Keep in mind that it takes 24 to 72 hours for some domain mapping & name server changes to reach the far corners of the internet

@ thevitalmama:
The ‘a’ records should work, but it may take a little time, as auxclass mentions.
However, your best option really is to contact your current domain provider, and transfer the domain to a registrar — like Hover.com or GoDaddy.com — and then update your name servers: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
If you’re using the domain for email, or subdomains, you’d need to update those records on our side too.
Let me know what you decide!

Do I need to point one IP address to www and one at @ ? It doesn’t seem to where to redirect it to? This information is very vague. I need more assistance! Why are there two A records ending in 24 and 25? It does not know which one to direct it to?????

@thevitalmama (krystalross928):
As I mention, I recommend that you contact your current domain provider, and transfer the domain to a registrar — like Hover.com or GoDaddy.com — and then update your name servers: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
We don’t really support A records.
-
Great. Someone could have told me that you don’t support A records to start with to save me two weeks of losing business due to my website being down. I told you that I cannot transfer my domain for another 30 days, so in the meantime I have no site connected. I will go elsewhere. Thanks for your time.
-
@thevitalmama (krystalross928):
Your domain name is currently pointing to your WordPress.com blog:
http://thevitalmama.comIf it’s not for you, keep in mind it may take up to 72 hours for changes to take effect across the entire internet.
I don’t see where you mention not being able to transfer your domain for 30 days, but I do recommend that you transfer your domain and update your name servers as soon as you can.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
That’s the fully supported way in which to achieve what you want.
