I need help.
-
Hello. I am new to this blog thing and I am very confused as I am not so computer literate. I have my domain, blog name and have just loaded one of the free themes and have had a play around but I can’t seem to get the look and feel I want. I realise I will probably have to pay to get the right thing but before doing so I wanted to get some advise.
I would really like my page to look more like a website with each page able to have new posts added to it. I have set up pages but realise that they are static and the only page I can continue to add posts to is the home page. Can you help me to find what it is I need to do. Also eventually I would like to set up extra pages to for sales. Is this possible? I do have a business name and an ABN so eventually want to run it like a business. Can you help?
Thanks heaps.

Blog posts by default appear on your home page (main feed) in reverse chronological order. You cannot prevent posts from publishing on the main feed, but you can set up category pages that will only display posts that have a certain category assigned. You’ll need to create a custom menu in order to use category pages. See these articles for comprehensive instructions:

To have an ecommerce site with an integrated shopping cart and payment system you’ll need to buy the Business upgrade. You can read here exactly what that entails: https://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/
I realise I will probably have to pay to get the right thing but before doing so I wanted to get some advise.
Should you decide to pay someone to help you, please make sure the person specifically works with WordPress.com. Most WordPress consultants on the web specialise in self-hosted WordPress.org websites.
If you’re able to explain exactly what you want and can follow instructions, we should be able to help you figure out most things here in the forum. Additionally, if you have the Premium upgrade you also get direct email support from staff and with the Business upgrade, live chat support, so think carefully before paying someone else to help you.
However, as you talk about eventually creating a business site, you might want to look at the self-hosted WordPress.org platform. It’s not as simple to run as WordPress.com, but offers much more flexibility and will, for example, allow you to install the ecommerce plugins of your choice and allow you to add advertising to your site. You can learn more about WordPress.org here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
