I need help adding a thumbnail picture in my widget
-
Since wordpress has changed I can’t figure out how to add a new thumbnail sized pic in my sidebar in a widget.
I currently have a handful of photos there in that widget, I just want to add a new one. I have been able to add a new photo, but it’s HUGE. I want it to be a thumbnail that you can click on and get to the original sized pic, like all my others.
Does that make sense?
Can someone help me? Thanks.

Probably the easiest thing to do is to insert the image into a post as a thumbnail and then switch to the HTML tab and copy the image code out and into a text widget. Make sure and click “none” under the URL link section if you do not want it to link to the larger image.
If the size is not quite right, before copying the code, in the visual editor, click on the image in the post area, and use one of the corner handles to resize it. Using a corner handle will preserve the proportions.

What I did was resize my image first, save it on my desktop, then tried to upload it into the media gallery, and copy the ‘link’. Then go to the text widget and post the html code that i copied…. basically as sacredpath mentions above. You can resize an image using the software you use for editing your photos transferred from a digi camera. G’luck!
