I need help changing the address name to a new one.

  I want to take an old address and redo it and make a new site with a new address.
  Do I need to shut it down? I’ve been trying and I tried to change to the new name and it says if I delete it I can never use the name again. I somehow made a mistake and the new name show up with the old and I’m afraid that if I delete one it will delete both and I can’t use the one want. ? Help my phone number is [redacted]
