I need help deleting categories

  I’m trying to delete categories that I created. It won’t allow me to. Word Press says to go to Posts, go to categories, and then I should be able to edit them. I don’t have a ‘Post’ menu. There is Stats, Plan, Blog Posts, Pages, Themes, Menu, etc. The only place where I can view my categories is on Blog Posts, but it won’t allow me to edit them. Please help.
