i need help desperately

  hi, i am totally new to this blogging world and am so confused by it all really. I am trying to make a website similar to http://www.worldtravellers.dk and i have no clue how to do it. I want to create a simple sidebar like his where it has pics, route list, sponsors etc. I have spent about tree hours trying to figure this damn thing out and am having no luck. Im not totally computer illiterate, i actually thought i was alright on computers but obviously not!!!
  Could anyone please give me some help???
  should i be using wordpress.org if i want to stick advertisement on the side as well? Is the worldtravllers.dk guy using wp.com, or wp.org

  You can’t put advertisements on WordPress.com blogs. But if you’re new to blogging and having difficulty getting things to work, you will find WordPress.com is a much easier way to get started.
