  where is the option to substitute a real photo for the stock photo. i don’t see that

  i used a template for setting up a site, but it has a very obnoxious ink blot splat that i can’t see an option to delete. does anyone have a clue how to get rid of it ? this is the site i’m working on. any suggestions ?

  That site is hosted by Siteground not here at WordPress.com. This forum assists with free sites hosted here such as https://hamidforpresident.wordpress.com/
  If the site you are working on is using the WordPress.org software then the correct support forum is:

  can you help me figure out what the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org; i can log into wordpress.com, but not into wordpress.org
  i’m using wordpress.com now, but i’m sure you can see the source of confusion

  You will need to register separately in order to post to the WordPress.org forums.

  Go to
  https://wordpress.org/support/

  At the top right of the page see the prompt to Register. This is simply a registration for those forums. It is different from your login to your site and it is different from your WordPress.com login. So create a new one.

  Once you are registered you will use that to login to the WordPress.org support forums.

  Also explore searching for support for the theme you are using thought the on the website for the theme developers as well as on the forums.
