I need help recreating my website header for my subdomain blog
-
Hi,
My current website is http://ztribes.com and my blog is http://blog.ztribes.com I would like these to be seamless so that when a user visits my blog they aren’t taken to a different site but instead are able to have access to the other links on my site.
I created my site with Adobe Muse.
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
This is the WordPress.COM support forum. You need to post to the WordPress.ORG support forum for help with your site because it is not hosted by WordPress.COM.WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Hi Timethief,
I do have a wordpress.com account, I paid the $99 annual fee when I signed up.

http://www.ztribes.com/ is not hosted by WordPress.COM.
ztribes.com is hosted by Amazon.com
Name Servers:
ns1.worldsecuresystems.com
ns2.worldsecuresystems.com
ns3.worldsecuresystems.com -
I changed it to be hosted by Adobe Business Catalyst which hosts http://ztribes.com a rep from wordpress.com suggested to do it this way.
I’m pretty new at this, does the hosting need to be changed back?

Don’t do anything, okay. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

I believe ztribes is trying to replicate the look of a non-WordPress.com site http://ztribes.com, on the WordPress.com site http://blog.ztribes.com
So the site is blog.ztribes.com (which is on WordPress.com) which needs the CSS help.
Thanks!

Correct, thanks Joel! A previous rep told me in order to have the blog.ztribes.com subdomain work, I would need to host on the same site as the main domain.

Now that everything is cleared up, can I get some tips on how to go about setting it up? Every tip is very much appreciated!

Css help just takes a little longer because there is only a couple of staffers who helm that department. Just hang in there and they’ll get to you.

Hi @ztribes,
We’ve got a great series on the Daily Post teaching our users basic CSS. You should check these out! They’re a big help:
http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/06/21/css-intro/
https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/07/25/css-selectors/
http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/08/29/css-matched-rule-pane/If you have specific questions about CSS changes you’d like to make to your theme, we’re happy to help you out as you go along. I see you’ve set your theme’s background image to match your website and you’ve selected a color scheme that looks pretty consistent. Great start!
I’d also upload the image that you use as a favicon for your website as your blog’s Blog Picture/Icon in Settings->General here:
https://ztribes.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.phpI also recommend going to Appearance->Customize->Site Title and adding a Site Title and description:
https://ztribes.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fztribes.wordpress.com%2FBecause you don’t have ‘display header text’ there, that text won’t actually display in your header, but by changing it, you could have the title that shows in the browser tab be something like ‘ZTribes Blog’ instead of your URL.
Let me know if you have further questions!
