I need help upgrading to wordpress 5.2.1

  Hello!
  I need help updating my wordpress, there is an error message that says ‘You cannot update because WordPress 5.2.1 requires PHP version 5.6.20 or higher. You are running version 5.4.45.” but when I click on the link to update and download the new version it only downloads a file. How can I resolve this?

  Hi there, sites on WordPress.com do not have access to upgrade our PHP so I believe you need help with a site using the open source WordPress (ORG) software.
