I need help with erasing a site
-
Ok so this is a bit of a uncommon request, but basically here is the situation:
My ex’s brother started a website in my name for a dissertation project in website design several years ago which he almost immediately abandoned. it was my suggestion because I wanted to help him with choosing a topic. The wordress is basically empty, it has no posts. He registered it to a university email which has since become inactive, so now he can’t delete it. He’s being really unhelpful as i’ve asked him many times and he never contacts support with this issue.
The photo he put in there is of himself. I don’t like this page, the photo, the title representing me. As I work in the public sector and people might look me up. It was all done without asking my oppinion.I really need this taken down. I can provide proof for my claims and identity as well as his. Please can you help me. Thank you very much in advance.
The website address is https://trainwithemil.wordpress.com/

Hey ekaterinskigmailcom,
If you access to your WordPress.com account or even the email address, you can log in directly or recover the password and then log in.
But if you don’t have that, please contact the staff. https://wordpress.com/help/contact
And if you can log in, please read this to delete the website. https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

Hi there,
Only the owner of a site can delete it, and we do not delete sites at a third party’s request under any circumstances. Your brother will need to go through our account recovery process to regain access to that site, and then he can delete it.
We do not accept any other forms of verification aside from those listed on that page as proof of ownership of a site.

Hi kokieh,
First of all you didn’t read my post properly either because it’s not MY brother.
I believe you can understand none of these options are viable because that email address is inactive, so that renders all of these forms of verification useless. No password recovery or retrieval of transaction ID can occur when the email used to register doesn’t exist anymore. I think you will agree with me on this one?The mobile number is also inactive because this happened in a different country so the sim card is long gone now.
And finally as I said the person who did the website is uncooperative, so I cannot get them to try any of these even if they were viable options. You should have a procedure for this type of situation.
You are hosting a fraudulent website that’s misrepresenting me and claiming to be me when it’s not. Unless you decide to consider my case on an individual basis as it should be, instead of giving me your standard cookie cutter responses I will be forced to take legal action against your company.

It’s an empty website. I’m not trying to pull a scam here. It’s been inactive ever since it was created. It doesn’t link to anything. It has nothing on it. It has my name on it which matches with my email address. I have another website on the same topic on your website with the same email address. How about you actually think for a second?

If that’s the case we cannot help you. We do not give account access to anyone but the verified owner of an account, and we cannot use information we don’t control for verification.

If you believe the site to be fraudulent or violating our terms of service you can report it as described here:
We do not help with legal or terms of service issues in the forums.

Ok so if I made a website called kokkieh.wordpress.com and wrote whatever I wanted on it. As long as it’s not one of these 5 things you would be forced to just leave it there?? Just because it’s not spam, extreme porn, abusive content, self-harm or copyright content it is your position that it can stay up? It’s not a website about me, so it’s not a free speech issue. It’s a website claiming to be me when it is not. It’s impersionation. It’s identity theft and you are enabling it.
I do not want account access. I want the website taken down otherwise I will sue. There is no other support listed on wordpress.com so you are my point of contact. You are meant to help me.
Once again, I’m saying you need to look into this and consider it on an individual basis. -
I explained to you the whole situation and it doesnt look like you even read it properly or visited the website. This issue needs to be taken seriously. If not by you then give me someone to contact that will deal with this properly.

I have told you above how to report the site to our terms of service team if you believe this site is in violation. I am closing this thread to further replies.
